Lone Natural Resource Officer Survival Course

This course is designed for officers in the Natural Resource fields. Students will learn the latest information in human dimensions and how modern society interacts in outdoor environments. This course will teach students how to assess threats to visitors, natural resources and themselves. Students will be able to identify commonly used safety tactics on enforcement contacts. Students will also learn to recognize some of the risks experienced during lone officer contacts and gain exposure to commonly used tactics to help reduce the risks associated with those contacts. Students will learn modern threats affecting the outdoor recreation arena and help prepare for ways to reduce those threats.

Park Visitor and Resource Protection Course

This course is designed for current professionals and students preparing for careers in Natural Resource and Recreation Management. Students will learn the latest in human dimensions and how modern society interacts in outdoor environments. This course will teach students how to assess threats to visitors, natural resources and themselves. Students will be able to identify commonly used safety tactics on visitor enforcement contacts. Students will also learn to recognize some of the risks experienced during lone visitor contacts and gain exposure to commonly used tactics to help reduce the risks associated with those contacts. Students will learn modern threats affecting the outdoor recreation arena and help prepare for ways to reduce those threats.
